North End Halifax

The north end of Halifax is a trendy community with colorful houses, lots of restaurants, shops, and nightlife.  A popular area for the University population as far as housing affordability and the proximity to Universities.  The North End gave rise to a thriving community of artists, craftsmen, painters, and musicians.

The North End also has several military installations within CFB Halifax, the largest military base in Canada. It is also home to Her Majesty’s Canadian Dockyard and Stadacona. Also the location of the Military Police, Military Family Resource Centre and the military housing in Windsor Park and Willow Park.  The Halifax Shipyards is the largest full service shipyard on the East Coast and has built many vessels for the Royal Canadian Navy.
