Herring Cove

Herring Cove is a former fishing community in Halifax Regional Municipality located on the eastern shore of the Chebucto Peninsula and 15 km from Downtown Halifax. Two schools serve the area, William King Elementary and Herring Cove Junior High. The community is also home to a few small businesses.

The annual Herring Cove Polar Bear Dip started in 2019 and raises money for local charities. If you are a nature enthusiast there are several hiking trails in the community. Hayes’s gardens, and the Monument which is popular place to enjoy the splendid views of the Atlantic.
